Peace Box

What is Peace?

Jesus tells us that real peace is knowing that we are safe and loved, no matter what. Jesus’ peace is not about everything being perfect. When we have Jesus’ peace inside ourselves, we are able to share it with others.

Peace in Yourself

One way we can feel God’s peace is by taking deep breaths. When we breathe in slowly and then breathe out gently, it helps our minds calm down and our bodies relax.

Peace in Your Home

The Bible tells us that when we love each other, we live in peace. We show love when we listen kindly, share what we have, and think about each other’s feelings.

Peace in Your Family

We can be like Jesus when we feel a scary storm in our family. Maybe we need to tell ourselves to stop! We can make a space for silence. And we can sit and be still. We can take deep breaths and wait for the storm to pass.

Peace in Your Community

Jesus reminds us that peace isn’t just something we feel.  At church, we share a sign of peace. But peace is more than words. Peace is something we do. Peace grows when we care for each other. Peace is shared when we reach across boundaries to help someone in need. We are called to be peacemakers in our churches and neighborhoods.

Peace in the World

Our family can share this peace with others  by making sure everyone is treated fairly and kindly. This is what it means to work for justice.  When we work for justice and peace for others, we are filling the earth with God’s love.
